We all know that things take time to grow so if you’re a newbie in freelancing world, you’ve to do a lot of struggle to grab projects and make your name.
I’m going to talk about Fiverr freelance marketplace which is the recommended platform to start your freelancing career. If you’ve registered on Fiverr but not getting any orders, this article is for you!
In this article, I’m going to explain how you can create a Fiverr Gig that helps you get exposure in front of Fiverr Buyers and consequently a lot of projects. This process is called Fiverr Gig Optimization.
How to do Fiverr Gig Optimization
You might’ve heard about Search Engine Optimization aka SEO which is an internet marketing technique in which you optimize your website in a way so it ranks higher in Search Engines like Google.
If you want to know what SEO is, check out my Beginner’s guide to Search Engine Optimization in which I’ve explained everything in a very easy to understand language.
Let’s get to the point..
Like Search Engine Optimization, your Fiverr gig also needs some sort of optimization so it ranks higher in Fiverr search engine so when someone searches for some specific service on Fiverr, your gig pops up on the first page or on top rows…
It’s a human nature that we prefer what’s in front of us. Most of us don’t navigate to 9th, 10th page of Google for their query. We prefer the answers which are on First page of Google.
Same is the case here.. Most of the people don’t navigate to 5,6 (or even more) pages of Fiverr to find a specific service rather they prefer the gigs of First Page and most probably the ones which are at the top.
But you must be wondering how could you rank your Fiverr gig so it appears at the top despite a lot of competition there ? Well, let’s have a look at it step by step 🙂
First of all, navigate to the category in which you’re going to create gig. For example, if you create WordPress websites, fix WordPress errors etc, you should navigate to the WordPress sub-category under the Programming & Tech category.
After that when type in a keyword like “fix wordpress errors” in the search bar, you’ll see a number of gigs would come up. These are actually the gigs which are fully optimized based on the query “fix wordpress errors”. Open up a couple of gigs and see their title, category, sub-category, description and tags. You’ll notice that they’ll have this same keyword in their title, description and tags so whenever some user types in “fix wordpress errors” in the Fiverr search bar, that gig would appear at the top.
Let’s take this WordPress bug fixes example to explain how you should setup your gig…
Gig Title Optimization:
The very first thing in a Fiverr gig is the Gig title. It explains what your gig (or service) is all about. You should include the target keyword (“fix wordpress errors” in this case) in the title like “I will fix wordpress errors for you in 24 hours”.
Gig Category & Sub-Category:
Now that you’ve optimized the gig title, the next thing is to make sure you put your gig in the right category, sub-category and then select the specific service you’re offering. So taking that same “fix wordpress errors” example, you’ve to put your gig in Programming & Tech (Category), WordPress (Sub-category) and select the Bug Fixes as the service.
Gig Description Optimization:
After setting up Gig title and Category, the next step is to optimize your gig description. Gig description is basically the detailed information about the service you’re offering in the gig. Make sure you include your keyword 2-3 times within the description. In our case, I need to put “fix wordpress errors” within the description 2-3 times.
Gig Tags Optimization:
The last thing to consider when optimizing your gigs is to include the target keyword (“fix wordpress errors” in our case) in the tags section right after description.
